Rewrite the equation in the form: y = mx + b

Add 3 to both sides.
Do that again with the other piece.
 
And then repeat the process with the other piece of the equation that isn't where it belongs. In other words, rearrange the equation, using the techniques you've learned for solving linear equations, to get it in the required format.
