I did this:

4x- 6x + 4

-2x + 4 is my answer is that correct?

Short answer is NO.

It helps when you are starting out to use grouping parentheses.

4x - (6x + 4) = 4x - 6x - 4 = -2x - 4.

You are subtracting (6x + 4) so EVERYTHING within the parentheses must change sign.
