Relationship between generic functions f(x-a), 1/f(x-a)

Say you have a function y = f(x-a) and y = 1/f(x-a)...how are they related.

How about y = f(x) + c and y = 1/f(x)+ c?

Please enlighten me...

Hard to say what you are shooting for, but...

The first: Reciprocal?
The second: I'm afraid to assume what you mean. Is you intent as written or 1/[f(x)+ c]?

Calculate the derivative of each and see how they look.
