A conical paper cup of radius 5cm and height 15 cm is leaking water at the rate of 2cm^3/min. At what rate is the lvel of water decreasing when the water is 3cm deep?

so r=5cm
h=15cm
dv/dt= -2cm^3/min

Is v=3cm? or what is the 3cm?

did I label everything right?

3 cm = h is the depth of water in the cup at a specific point in time ... h = 15cm when the cup is full.

note that r, the radius of water in the cup is changing also ... r is 5 cm when the cup is full.

the relationship between r and h at any time is r/h = 5/15 = 1/3,
so h = 3r or r = h/3
