Hi there,

I hope some kind soul out there would be able to help me out with a maths problem I'm facing. I've got an equation that I need to rearrange of the form:

x=A/y6+B/y4+C/y2+D

Also uploaded a picture (below) so it's easier to visualise.

Can anyone out there please tell me how to rearrange to solve for y?

Any help much appreciated...

Many thanks,
Adam

Do you know how to solve a general cubic equation (Cardan's rule - perhaps)?
