Hello All,

I've been attempting to rearrange a formula used in Sheet Metal Design. The formula is: -

BD = 2 * (tan(Theta/2) * (R + T)) - (Pi/180 * Theta * (R + (K * T)))

T = Thickness
R = Inside Bend Radius
K = K Factor
BD = Bend Deduction

More information on this topic can be found here - http://sheetmetal.me/formulas-and-functions/bend-deduction/

I'm trying to rearrange the formula to make R the subject and any help would be greatly appreciated :D

I'm trying to rearrange the formula to make R the subject and any help would be greatly appreciated :D
BD = 2 * (tan(Θ/2) * (R + T)) - (π/180 * Θ* (R + (K * T)))

BD = 2 * tan(Θ/2) * R + 2 * tan(Θ/2) * T - π/180 * Θ * R - π/180 * Θ *K * T

BD = R*[2 * tan(Θ/2) - π/180 * Θ] + 2 * tan(Θ/2) * T - π/180 * Θ *K * T

Now continue.....

BD = 2 * (tan(Θ/2) * (R + T)) - (π/180 * Θ* (R + (K * T)))

BD = 2 * tan(Θ/2) * R + 2 * tan(Θ/2) * T - π/180 * Θ * R - π/180 * Θ *K * T

BD = R*[2 * tan(Θ/2) - π/180 * Θ] + 2 * tan(Θ/2) * T - π/180 * Θ *K * T

Now continue.....

Thanks! I think I have it now :)
