Ok im working with midsegments of triangles...how would I set up this problem...medseg. is 5 and the base is x-1, obviously the answer is ten and x=11...but how do I set it up?

Type the WHOLE problem...word for word, right from your book...

WEll, I have a triangle, and the midsegment is 5 and the base, is x-1...there are congruence marks and all...would I set this up like, 5+5=x-1...or what???

Well, hope someone else understands what you're asking; sorry, I don't.
As far as I know, a midsegment is a STRAIGHT LINE from a triangle's apex
to the middle of the opposite side.

Never mind...I cant ever explain the problem thoroughly..I will just ask my teacher...Sorry...
