I know how to get the idea across, but what is the correct pronunciation/reading for an equation like this:

r={(x,y)∈ R x R:y=2x+1}

I want to say the relation r is the set of all possible (x,y) coordinates, where x & y are real numbers, such that y=2x+1. I'm not sure if there are any subtleties or specific words I should/shouldn't use.

But there's nothing really "wrong" about it, either. And if that's the kind of lingo your textbook or instructor is using, then it's probably a good idea to mimic that. ;)
