hello
can some please explain rational expressions to me in terms that i can understand.

x^2-4x+9
_________(find all number for which the rational expession is not definded.
2x + 5

ALSO
f(x)=x^2 - 4x + 9
______________( find the domain of f if. write interval notation for the answer.
2x + 5

Thanks

Rational expressions are nothing but fractions - except here instead of numbers you would have polynomials (or functions or expressions).

For a review go to:

Rational fraction will not be defined - for the values of "x" - where the denominator goes to 'zero'.

For the question of domain - what is the definition of domain?
