What do you want to do with that?

Also please share with us your work/thoughts - so that we know where to begin to help you.

Not much to go on here. Looks like you have this to start:

\(\displaystyle \frac{y+8}{6y^2-y-2}\)

All you can do is factor the denominator and that's it.

\(\displaystyle \frac{y+8}{(3y-2)(2y+1)}\)

Is there something else?

Or does "y + 8 OVER
6Yto the 2nd power- y-2" mean
\(\displaystyle \frac{y+8}{6y^2}-y-2\) or something else.
I encourage the poster to learn the proper use of parenthesis.
