Did you use trial-and-error? I suppose that would work; however, I would like to say that WHEN a quadratic polynomial factors, the process of factoring by grouping always works. It may not be less tedious, but, if tedium is involved (because the coefficients have larger magnitude), then it's generally easier to go through the mechanical steps of factoring by grouping versus trial-and-error.
The magnitude of your given coefficients is small, so maybe you did it in your head. Either way, good for you.
