Rational Equation

This is my problem:

................4/x+1=3/x-2

(x+1)(x-2)4/x+1=3/x-2(x+1)(x-2)
.................(x-2)=3(x+1)
..................4x-8=3x+3
.....................4X=3X+11
.......................X=11



Is this correct? If not what did I do wrong?

Hi yo Silver; start using BRACKETS; that should be:
4 / (x + 1) = 3 / (x - 2)

Your answer is correct; but you can cross-multiply:
3(x + 1) = 4(x - 2)

REMEMBER that if a/b = c/d, then ad = bc
