Ratios of QuarterBacks completed passes to attempted passes is 3 to 7. If he attempts 32 passes find how many passes he completed. Round to the nearest whole pass.
I did this as far as what I thought I was suppose to do with ratios, but the back of the book made the answer 14.... So what am I doing wrong. :(

Now I did the whole
3x
+
7x
=
10

32 / 10 = 3.2

3 x 3.2 = 9.6
7 x 3.2 = 22.4

32 / 10 = 3.2

3 x 3.2 = 9.6
7 x 3.2 = 22.4

\(\displaystyle \frac{completed \ \ passes}{attempted \ \ passes} \ = \ \frac{3}{7}\)

\(\displaystyle \frac{completed \ \ passes}{32} \ = \ \frac{3}{7}\)

\(\displaystyle completed \ \ passes \ = \ \frac{3 * 32}{7} \\)

now finish it....
