Hello All

I am having a bit of a hard time getting this question to run thru  my head, if some one could please give me a hand I would greatly appreciate it.

TOne side of a triangle is 1 inch longer than the shortest side and is 1 inch shorter than the longest side. The perimeter is 17 inches. Find the dimensions of the triangle.
I come up with side side lengths of 4.6666667 by 5.6666667 by 6.6666667 , which leaves me .0000001. What am I doing wrong ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

That is what happens when you convert most fractions to decimal.

Your answers are correct - \(\displaystyle 4\frac{2}{3}, \, 5\frac{2}{3}, \, 6\frac{2}{3}, \,\)

In this case, my suggestion is to leave your answers in fraction form.

Thank you very much
I thought my answer was close but I did not think to flip it to fraction form. :D
