Simple question that I believe will help me with is….. How can you tell if it is a quadratic, just by looking at a function?

Thanks

All quadratic functions are defined by 2nd-degree polynomials.

If the function that you're inspecting can be placed into the form f(x)=Ax^2+Bx+C, then it is quadratic. (Remember, each of the coefficients A, B and C may be any Real number except that A may not be zero.)

The graph of a quadratic function is always a parabola.
