I was wondering if anyone could help me out. Here is the question:

Write a rule in transformation form for the quadratic function whose graph is te parabola with vertex (0,1) that passes through (2,-7)

If possible would i be able to get an explanation of the answer with it?

Thank you for reading this post :D

Re: Quadratic Functions

First tell me: What is the general form of an equation for a parabola?

It has an a, h, and k in it. That is a big hint. If you find that equation, then I'll be able to help you use it to find your answer. Try looking in your textbook for starters. The internet will have too much garbage on it for just this problem.

However, we have answered many questions like this on this very board. Here is a link to one that includes a nice explanation. It has different numbers, but the math is exactly what you need for yours.
