Can somebody prove this for me?
x= ((-b+-sqrt{b^2-4ac})/2a -- this is the usual quadratic formula which you use to solve for for x.

But if you have this one:
{2c}/{-b+-(b^2-4ac)}

Can I also always use this formular for solving? Or is there a different. Can you prove that it doesn't work?

Thanks a lot

I'm sorry, but I'm not clear on what you are asking. Are you looking for a proof of the Quadratic Formula? Or a proof (or disproof) of whatever is the expression in your second paragraph?

Please reply with the exact text of and instructions for the exercise on which you are working. Thank you.

Eliz.
