Hi, ive been having alot of trouble with these two questions.
--
solve the quadratic equations by using the quadratic formula.
----
1. 5t^2 = 5t + 3

2. 3u^2 - u = -9

From what ive learned before, i would switch the sides and factor it... but that doesnt seem to work. Im not quite sure what this quadratic formula is... heres what I would do...

1. 5t^2 = 5t + 3

5t^2 -5t - 3

no idea what to do after this.... thanks in advance guys

Well, if you're not familiar with the quadratic formula, then you sure
won't understand what I did in your other post!

WHY are you asked to use quadratic formula if you don't know what it is?
Are you in school?

This is not a teaching site; look up the quadratic formula (use google),
learn it (quite easy), and you should be ok; come back if not.

And when you do your searching, put "quadratic formula" in quote-marks, so you'll narrow your results from "stuff related to quadratics or formulas" to "stuff specific to the Quadratic Formula". For instance, Google gives some nice results.

ok i did it... heres my answer... any good? ( i dont know how to do the littl

1. t = 5+or- 85/10

the 85 is under the squareroot sign, and the 10 is underneath the whole equation (i dont know how to type iut out on the computer..)

2. u = 1 + or - -107/6

the -107 is under the squareroot sign, and the 6 is underneath the whole equation

Is that right? if not whats wrong about it?
