Problems involving quadratic equations (53 exercises)

Some rules of the site.
(1) Prefeably one problem per thread.
(2) This is a help site, not an answer site. Ideally, you need to show what you have done , where you are stuck, and why.
(3) You can ask for a hint to get started if you can't even start.
(4) You can show your answer and ask whether or not it is correct, but if you do not show your work, you may only get a yes or no answer.
in short, the best way to get help here is to give your problem completely and exactly and then show what you yourself have managed to do.

Also, the fifty-three exercises in the many pages of homework problems are too small to be legible. Please reply with one sample exercise from each category, showing your thoughts and efforts, and specifying where you are getting stuck. (Or, if you're needing lesson instruction, please say so.) Thank you!
