I understand inverse equations and solving rational equations. but i don't understand graphing simple/general rational function, multiplying and dividing rational expressions, or adding and subtracting rational expressions. i really would like help in any of these subjects with an example or two. thank you very much :)

We're too lazy to think of examples.
Why don't you give us an example problem...

ok then how about: x^2-5/x^2+5x-14-x+3/x+7

ok ... how about using some grouping symbols (like parentheses) to make your expression clear.

(x^2-5)/(x^2+5x-14)-(x+3)/(x+7)

factor the first denominator ...

\(\displaystyle \frac{x^2 - 5}{(x+7)(x-2)} - \frac{x+3}{x+7}\)

common denominator is (x+7)(x-2) ...

\(\displaystyle \frac{x^2 - 5}{(x+7)(x-2)} - \frac{(x+3)(x-2)}{(x+7)(x-2)}\)

\(\displaystyle \frac{(x^2 - 5) - (x+3)(x-2)}{(x+7)(x-2)}\)

\(\displaystyle \frac{(x^2 - 5) - (x^2 +x-6)}{(x+7)(x-2)}\)

\(\displaystyle \frac{1-x}{(x+7)(x-2)}\)

you're done.

thank you very much!! that was amazing!! i think i understand now. thank you again. ^_^
