i am having a problem finding the area of the three triangles outside the Pitagoras drawing
you can see what i am meaning in this picture
http://i51.tinypic.com/28gxmyd.jpg
so i need the area of all the triangles in the middle of the squares

Thanks in advance

I assume that all three of the rectangles are intended to be squares. If this is a false assumption, ignore this entire post....

At the bottom of the picture, in the center, is a 7x9 rectangle. This is probably intended to be a square.

If so, what are the lengths of the sides of the right triangle in the lower left?

Figure re-drawn

Assuming that all quadrilaterals are squares and the middle \(\displaystyle \Delta\) is right-angled: I have redrawn the figure.

Now tell me clearly what do you want to find??
