Hi guys and gals,

"A bag contains 4 blue marbles and 6 green marbles. Two marbles are drawn from the bag, one at a time, with replacement. Find the probability that:

a) both marbles are blue.
b) both marbles are green.
c) the marbles are different colors.
d) the marbles are the same color.

Thank you all, please explain too~!:D

What are your thoughts? Please show some effort.

I'll help with the first one. There are 10 marbles in the bag, and 4 of them are blue, so the chance of drawing a blue marble on the first draw is 4 out of 10, or 4/10 = 2/5 = .4. Since this is "with replacement" we put that marble back into the bag, so there are still 10 marbles in the bag when we do our second draw. The odds are the same of getting a blue marble again, 2/5. The combined probability is the product of the two individual probabilities: (2/5)(2/5) = 4/25 = .16

Your turn.
