If someone said the probability of something was 1 in 10 to the 100th power, can this same probablity be expressed as 10 to the negative 100th power? The probability is written both ways like this in something i was reading, but I never saw anything like that before so I wanted to find out if that is correct.

Yes
\(\displaystyle \text{1 in 10 to the 100th power} \, = \, \frac{1}{10^{100}} \, = \, 10^{-100}\)
