1) Find the domain and range of the function k(x)=?(4-x)²-2

2) FInd all the vertical and horizontal asymptotes of the following function y=(2x²+4)/(x²-4)

3) Determine if the following functions are odd even or neither
y= sin x
y= 3(x-5)²
y= cos x

4) Circle inscribed in a square: A circle is inscribed in a square of side s. Write the area of the circle as a function of s.

5) Draining a cylindrical tank: A cylindrical tank with diameter of 20 ft is filled with oil to a depth of 40 feet. The oil begins draining at a constant rate of 2 cubic feet per second. Write the depth of the oil remaining in the tank t seconds later as a function of t

1) Notation is unclear. Exactly what is in the Square Root? I can assume, but you need to make SURE it is waht you intend.

2) Vert: x = 2 and x = -2, but very quick inspection.
Horiz: y = 2, also by bery quick inspetion
Why are you struggling with these?

3) odd, neither, even -- These are inspection problems. Why are they stumping you? Read the chapter over. You seem to be missing something.

4) s = d -- Again, a VERY SIMPLE geometry problem. Have you been attending class?

5) Show me that you can tackle the first four and we might be ready to tackle this one.
