What is the question?

What does 7^x times 7^x equal?

If you don't know that, you need classroom help.

You might try this.
Let 7[sup:2xmh6hhv]x[/sup:2xmh6hhv] = a and substitute the a back into the equation getting...

a[sup:2xmh6hhv]2[/sup:2xmh6hhv] - 4a = -3

Solve that for a. You should get two solutions. Substitute back into 7[sup:2xmh6hhv]x[/sup:2xmh6hhv] = a. Now you will have to use logarithms to solve for x. Be sure to check your answer. I hope it's okay for you to use a calculator.
