On a biology test, Shirley got 25 questions correct but did not pass. On a second attempt, she got 34 questions correct. What was the percent of increase?

What I did was I put it in a proportion form...

25/34=x/100.

2500/34= 73.52. but unfortantely when I did this in class and the teacher went over it with the students..I found that I got it incorrect. I didn't even put down the correct answer. I wish I did but she was going way to fast.

Can anyone answer this question pretty please?? Thanks you all so much. It's greatly appreciated.

This is the only way I could think of it...no other way I know how to do it.

How many more did Shirley answer (in her second attempt)?

Divide the above number by the number of questions she got correct originally (25)

Now express that answer in % form.
