Hello, The Wall!

A small city park consists of a rectangular lawn surrounded on all sides by 330 m2 border of flowers 2.5 m wide.
Find the area of the lawn if the entire park is 5 m longer that it is wide.

Code:
      :2.5: - - x - - :2.5:
   -- *-------------------* --
   2.5| | :
   -- | *-----------* | :
    : | | | | :
    x | |x | | x+5
    : | | x+5 | | :
   -- | *-----------* | :
   2.5| | :
   -- *-------------------* --
      : - - - x+10 - - - :

The lawn is x\displaystyle x-by-(x+5)\displaystyle (x+5) feet.
. . Its area is: .x(x+5)\displaystyle x(x+5) sq.ft.

We see that the park is (x+5)\displaystyle (x+5)-by-(x+10)\displaystyle (x+10) feet.
. . Its area is: .(x+5)(x+10)\displaystyle (x+5)(x+10) sq.ft.

The area of the border of flowers is the difference of those two areas.

There is our equation . . . . . (x+5)(x+10)x(x+5)=330\displaystyle (x+5)(x+10) - x(x+5) \:=\:330

Go for it!
