Most used? I do not know.

If you're looking for a printed book, you could try reading reviews online.

Otherwise, click HERE for search results on free pre-algebra texts online. Perhaps, you'll find explanations and examples that makes sense for you, by cross-checking different presentations of the same topics for which you need help.

Also, if you need more help understanding a particular explanation or example, you can always start a new thread on this board. :)
