I am working on a problem to determine the amount of pounds needed to fill up a sandbox. I haved worked the problem but unsure if I figured it correctly, please help.
Problem: Thelma Sue is building a sandbox for her children. Each side is 3 feet long, and the box is 2 feet deep. If one cubic foot of sand weighs 70 pounds, how many pounds of sand should she buy to fill it up?

Answer:??????? I figured the sandbox to have a volume of 18 cubic feet (3X3X2) and then multiplied that answer by 70 pounds. I came up with 1260 pounds of sand.

Please let me know if I figured this correctly or what I did wrong. Thanks for the help.
