Use long division to divide.

7. (4x^3 - 7x^2 - 11x + 5) / (4x + 5)

I've never done any problems like this. If someone could just help me to understand how to solve problems like this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

Do it like any other kind of long division. For example, the first term of the quotient is x^2. Now multiply by the divisor and subtract.

im not sure that i understand it still. What about the + 5. How do i work that into the problem and how do the numbers before the x effect how you solve the problem?
