Polygon A is a square, Polygon B has four more sides than polygon a. What type of polygon is polygon B? It would be an octagon, right?

Yes. And you could have confirmed this independently by using Wikipedia. Moreover, octo- (as in octopus) and octa- (an in octogenarian) and oct- (as in octive or octet) are prefixes that frequently mean 8 so it is a useful prefix to know.
