I would like to learn how to approximately sketch this figure using polar coordinates.

*** Note that I am only asking to sketch the outer circle and the two spiral arms; not the spokes nor the inner circle. Assume the spiral arms reach the origin.
I assume there will need to be three functions.
1. r1 = some diameter for the outer circle
2. r2 = spiral arm one = something similar to the cardioid with an interval such that the spiral arm reaches from the origin to the outer circle.
3. r3 = similar to r2, except moving in the opposite direction
I'm not sure how to represent the logarithmic change in gradient of the spiral arm, from the centre outwards.
