A girl spent t minutes on her Chemistry homework. She spent twice as long on her Maths homework, and her English homework took her 15 minutes longer than her Chemistry did. If she spent a total of 95 mins working, find the value of t.

Thanks in advance! :D

C=t
M=2t
E=C+15 = t+15
C+M+E=95 or
t+2t+(t+15) = 95
Solve for t

Thanks, but i still dont understand how to find the answer to this problem

At what point does the solution stop making sense? Please be specific. Thank you.

no don't know how to solve x
Well, if you don't know how to solve the linear equation, then you probably have no idea how to set up the equation, either, which means you need much more help than we can provide in a simple posting.

To learn how to solve linear equations, try here:

. . . . .FreeMathHelp: Introduction to Algebra
. . . . .offsite lesson: Solving Linear Equations

To learn how to translate English phrases and sentences into mathematical expressions and equations, try here:

Once you have learned the basics, then please return here and review the solution provided in the first reply (above). It should make a whole lot more sense, once you have the necessary background information.

If you get stuck, please reply explaining how far you could get. Thank you.
