Ok I have f(x)= x/(x+1)
where h cannot = 0

Then I have f(2+h)=(2+h)/(2+h)+(1)

Then I have f(2+h)=(2+h)/(3+h)

Is this reduced enough or does that h cannot = 0 mean something? I am in Calculus but this is algebra to me I have forgotten. Please help me. Thanks

As posted, there is no reason for h not to be zero. Is this the entire exercise? Or were you maybe supposed to evaluate [f(x + h) - f(x)]/h?

Eliz.
