My equation is
x+3y=4 and 2x-y=1

I need to graph this and it is on a computer program that will only let me plot on whole numbers. Since solving for y involves a fraction I was told to solve for x but in doing so I am still coming up with an incorrect answer. Could someone show me how to solve this in a way that I will be able to plot the points on a computer program that will not let you plot a fraction?

Please show in detail (including incorrect answer) - so that we know exactly where we can help.

Since the line will have non-whole-number values on it (by definition of being "continuous"), are you sure that whatever package you're using can actually draw the lines...? Are you required to use such an unhelpful package, instead of simply drawing the graphs with pencil and paper (so much easier and quicker!!)?

Since we don't know what you've done, what equation(s) you got, what you entered, or what the "correct" (that is, expected) answer might be, I'm afraid we cannot comment intelligently on this. Sorry.

Unfortunately, since we don't know with what software you are working (and don't offer tech support, in any case), I'm afraid we likely cannot help you with the data-entry or programming problems you are experiencing. Sorry.

Eliz.
