"You are opening a Daycare you will have 4 infants and 12 Pre-schoolers. Each age group is charged a seperate rates. Your weekly income is $3507.5. How much does each child pay per week. You are open 57.5 hrs a week each child stays open until closed."

i got 4x+12y=3507.5 and solved for x and y. but i dont know how to create the second equation to get the rate for each child

it says that the store genreates $61 per hr. Thats the only other info. does that help

You have used "x" and "y" in the previous equation you wrote, but you have not said what each of those variables represents.

Please DO that, and perhaps I can show you how the information about how much the store generates per hour can indeed help!

I'll wait until you define the variables to proceed.

X represents the dollar per week each infant pays and Y represents the dollar per week pre-K's pay
