A company selling widgets has found that the number of items sold, x, depends upon the price, p at which they're sold, according the equation x=80000√2p+1

Due to inflation and increasing health benefit costs, the company has been increasing the price by $4 per month. Find the rate at which revenue is changing when the company is selling widgets at $120 each.

I can't be sure whether the equation is:
  • x=80000√(2)p+1, that is, [MATH]x=80000\sqrt{2}p+1[/MATH],
  • x=80000√(2p)+1, that is, [MATH]x=80000\sqrt{2p}+1[/MATH], or
  • x=80000√(2p+1), that is, [MATH]x=80000\sqrt{2p+1}[/MATH]
Please clarify.

One way to clarify the meaning of a problem is to show some work, which shows us how you are interpreting it. And we need to see work anyway, in order to know what sort of help you need.
