Paul buys a coupon for 20 from a local theater that allows him to see movies for half price over the course of one year. The cost of seeing a movie is normally 7.50. whqat is the least number of movies paul would have to see to pay less than the normal price per movie. i got 6 am i wrong

I agree with your answer. If you need more help, please show your equation and work, and be specific about what you are unsure of.

By the way, you can check this somewhat by just working out how much 6 movies would cost each way. I recommend doing this without reference to your equation, in case that should be wrong!

Half of $7.50 is $3.75 which is what you save for each movie.

Savings after 1 movie = $3.75
Savings after 2 movies = $7.50
Savings after 3 movies = $11.25
Savings after 4 movies = $15
Savings after 5 movies = $18.75
Savings after 6 movies = $22.50

You could have calculated 20/3.75 = 5 1/3. So during the 6th movie you start saving.
