Solve (2 - 3a) / 4 > 5

i know i have to divide 2-3a into 4 but i'm not quite sure how to do so if someone could show me that then I could do the rest of the problem.

thanks,

Why on earth would you attempt to do a backwards division...?

In any case, why not just use the usual methods for solving a linear inequality?

Multiply through by the 4, subtract 2 from either side, and then divide through, remembering to flip the inequality symbol if/when you divide or multiply through by a negative.

(2-3a)/4>5
2-3a>20
-3a>20-2
-3a>18
(-1).(-3a)>18.(-1)
3a<-18
3a/3<-18/3
a<-6
