it says to graph the liine N(t-1)=RN(t) in the N-N(t-1) plane for the indicated value of R and locate the points (N(t), N(t-1)), t=0,1,and 2 for the given value of N(0).

For R=(1/2) and N(0)=64

would i just create the points such as...

for 0...
N(t)=.5*64^0=.5
N(t+1)=.5*64^1=32

and so on...if you could help that would be great...its just a matter of understanding the question completely i guess...

please help me you guys i have no idea what to do!!!! And its due soon!!!!

Please note that nobody "works" here. The tutors are volunteers who stop by when they are able. You should expect to wait hours, if not days, for an online reply from a tutor who feels qualified to answer.

Thank you for your consideration.

excuse me if you have time to reply to my post you may as well help me out......i'm sorry if i came to free math help.com to actually get some help and this is straight out of my calc book thank you very much!

Please review my earlier reply. There is no paid staff waiting on-hand to give instant replies. The tutors are all volunteers. Many are teachers. Not all are working on whatever it is that you're working on.

Please be prepared to wait hours, if not days, for a qualified tutor to reply.

Thank you for your consideration.

please review my earlier reply...i understand i speak english...do you??

It is quite confusing.
N(-1)=.5*64=32
N(0)=64
N(t)=N(t-1)/R
N(1)=64/(.5)=128
N(2)=128/.5=256
I don't see where you got the exponent in your work. That is probably why it hasn't been answered. No one understands it. I would plot (t,N(t)) as
(-1,32)
(0,64)
(1,128)
(2,256)

thanks for all your help gene...i went to the math support center before class today and figured it out...we figured out N(t)=.5*64=32 and then you would do .5*32=16 and plot it as (64,32) and (32,16) and so on...but i greatly appreciate your efforts...this whole book is just really confusing :D

well thanks for the thanks and they should know, but I think they are plotting t(0), t(-1), t(-2), and t(-3). not the -1,0,1,2. That was asked for. I note the correction to the axies but I still think it is (32,64), (64,128),(128,256)
