Write an equation in slope-intercept form of the line passing through each pair of points: (6, -2) and (3, -4)

-4 - (-2)
--------- = -2/3
3 - 6

next

y - (-2) = -2/3(x - 6)
y - (-2) -2/3x -6
y - (-2) + (-2) = -2/3x -6+ (-2)

y= -2/3x + 7 <-- my answer.

Let me now if I'm correct or wrong?

Hello, Dominic!

One tiny error . . .

Write an equation in slope-intercept form of the line passing through the points: (6, -2) and (3, -4)

-4 - (-2)
--------- = -2/3 . . . here . . . (-2)/(-3) = +2/3
3 - 6

Another mistake:

y - (-2) = -2/3(x - 6)
y - (-2) -2/3x -6

The distributive property of multiplication says you need to multiply 2/3 by x and -6, not just by x.

y - (-2) = 2/3(x - 6)
y - (-2) = 2/3 * x - 2/3 * 6
