Summary of six grade math standards..is this okay?? Can it be better??
standards
2.1 Solve problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of positive fractions

2.2 Explain the meaning of multiplication and division of positive fractions

2.3 Solve addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems, including those arising in concrete situations, that use positive and negative integers

2.4 find the least common multiple and the greatest common divisor of whole numbers; use them to solve problems with fractions

The standards that best relate to my topic fall under the category of number sense. Which is content standard 2.0 under six grade mathematics. Under number sense the sections that best applies to my topic of rational numbers is section 2.1 which states that six grade students will be learning how to solve problems that involve calculating positive fractions by using addition, subtraction , multiplication and division. Section 2.2 deals with students being able to express and examine their knowledge of the multiplication and division of positive fractions , while applying what they have learned to problems. Section 2.3 ask students experiment with problems that not only involve positive fractions and integers but with negative integers as well. With a firm grasp in the basics, section 2.4 require that students then go on to learn how to determine the least common multiple and the greatest common divisor to solve problems that deal with simplifying fractions.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand the question...?

"Grade six math" varies between districts, states, countries, curricula, etc. There is no fixed meaning, to my knowledge, for "grade six math". So I'm not sure what might be meant by a certain set of standards being "okay"...?

Also, since there are so many different "standards", I'm not sure what answer you're "supposed" to get in your "summary". It might help if you posted the exact text of the homework question, along with the instructions, so we can see what your arithmetic teacher is asking you to do.

Thank you.

Eliz.
