please help....factoring

can anyone solve and help me w theses problems they should be factored
ax+ay^2+bx+by^2
(t-b)^2-(t^2+b)^2
x^3-1000
x^3-6ax^2-12a^2x-8a^3



any one help
 
1) ax + ay<sup>2</sup> + bx + by<sup>2</sup>

Whenever they give you four terms and nothing comes out of all of them, they usually mean you to consider terms in pairs. So:

. . . . .a(x + y<sup>2</sup>) + b(x + y<sup>2</sup>) = ...?

2) (t - b)<sup>2</sup> - (t<sup>2</sup> + b)<sup>2</sup>

This is just a difference of squares. Factor according to the formula. Then see if the difference-of-squares factors factor any further.

3) x<sup>3</sup> - 1000

This is just a difference of cubes, so apply the formula.

4) x<sup>3</sup> - 6ax<sup>2</sup> - 12a<sup>2</sup>x - 8a<sup>3</sup>

You have cubed terms, (x)<sup>3</sup> and (-2a)<sup>3</sup>, for the first and last terms, and four terms for the whole polynomial. This should make you think of a cubed binomial. See what you can come up with.

ok for the first one i got (xy^2)(a+b)..i dont know if its right

the second one i got (t-b+t^3+b)(t-b-t^2+b)

the third i got (x-1000)(x^2+1000+1000^2) i dont know if its right.. but can u please help me


the forth i didnt get what u said about "you have cubed terms, (x)3 and (-2a)3, for the first and last terms," but i got x^2(x-6a)-2a^2(6x-8a)



please help me i guess i am a bit slow

Nope, What you have is \(\displaystyle axy^{2}+bxy^{2}\)

Factor out a and b: \(\displaystyle a(x+y^{2})+b({x+y^{2})\)

\(\displaystyle (a+b)(x+y^{2})\)


the second one i got (t-b+t^3+b)(t-b-t^2+b)
Use the difference of two squares. \(\displaystyle x^{2}-y^{2}=(x+y)(x-y)\)

Let \(\displaystyle x=t-b\) and \(\displaystyle y=t^{2}+b\)


the third i got (x-1000)(x^2+1000+1000^2) i dont know if its right.. but can u please help me Nope, \(\displaystyle 10^{3}=1000\)

Use the difference of two cubes formula, \(\displaystyle x^{3}-(10)^{3}\)
