I missed the first few days of school and i have to catch up. yikes... how do you simplify this:
x + 7
7 + x ?
and
7x + 35
xSquared + 5x

sorry i dont know how to insert a squared symbol

Re: Simplify expressions. . . help

Does a + b = b + a? If so, apply that idea to either the numerator or denominator. If not, consult your teacher.

yeah a + b= b+a... but can you give me an example i am totally lost

need help again with simplifying neg. #'s

ok i think i get it.
is it: the x's cancel out and so do the 7's so i am left with the anwser of "1"?
and if so then is it the same for negative numbers? like this problem?
y - 9
9 -y ?

9 -y ?

(y - 9) / (9 - y) = (y - 9) / -(y - 9)

On your other one: (7x + 35) / (x^2 + 5x) ; simplify:
7(x + 5) / x(x + 5)

If you can't follow that, you need your teacher; we can't teach here...
