physical situation?

Hii..i
here is another problem....this is my own difficulty
we all know what a/b means .It means that we would get a quotient that will say how much times a is more than b.What does a continued fraction means physically
like
a/[b+] +c/[d+]+e/[f+].....etc continued upto a finite number of times
