6x[sup:ebp1ew8b]2[/sup:ebp1ew8b]-5x-6

factorise this equation using perfect square method.I know what is perfect square method is,only this equation I am not getting the correct ans and the ans is(3x+2)(2x-3) how? PLEASE HELP.

Is the "perfect square method" synonemous with "completing the square method"?

Please show your work - so that we know what you mean.

You found the right equation. Watch out!, you have to find x such that
3x+2=0 and 2x-3=0.
The roots are...
Hope this helps,

By the way, these equations are not the ones obtained by completing the square (supposing that the method you mentioned is same)
You should have completed a square in your equation:
6x[sup:szomf7dx]2[/sup:szomf7dx]-5x-6=0
The beginning is, divide by six to let x with a coeficient equal to 1:
x[sup:szomf7dx]2[/sup:szomf7dx]-5/6x-1=0
Complete the equation to have a perfect square, can you?
Hint the coefficient of x has to be divided by two and then squared.
You have to find two equations wich lead to two solutions,

Helps this helps too,
