This is probably easy but im not gettin it helpp!

4 1/4% of (?)=8.5

4 1/4% = 4.25% = 0.0425
.0425*X=8.5

Convert the percentage (4¹/₄%) to a decimal (0.0425), pick a variable (say, "x") for the unknown, and translate into an equation:

. . . . .0.0425x = 8.5

Solve for the unknown.
