Here's my problem: I know the percentage tax rate is 2.011%. I know the result is $101.27. What is the amount that determined the result ($101.27) and how did you determine the original amount?

What do you mean by "the result"? If you mean the tax on amount, A, with percentage rate, 2.011%, was $101.27, then you are saying that .02011A= 101.27. Then you find A by dividing both sides by .02011: A= 101.27/.02011.
