"Percent" means "per hundred" (centum was the Latin word for hundred). "80% of" is the same as 80/100 or "0.80 times". Letting "M" be the number of stickers Meena has and "N" be the number of stickers Nelly has, "Meena has 80% the number of stickers Nelly has" means that M= 0.80N. Solve for N by dividing both sides by 0.80: N= M/0.80= (1/0.80)M= 1.25M. What percentage is the same as 1.25?
