IF A DRESS COST $52.25 AFTER A 45% DISCOUNT, WHAT WOULD BE THE ORIGINAL PRICE OF THE DRESS.

PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE THIS OUT

Please review the reply posted here.

1) Pick a variable for the original price.

2) In terms of this variable, write an expression for "45% of" the original price.

3) Subtract the discount (your expression in (2)) from the variable.

4) Set your difference from (3) equal to the discounted price.

5) Solve for the variable.
